1973

I came across an old hardware store in the outskirts of Connecticut that was about to finally close its doors for good. While going through the almost empty shop, I found a dozen hat block forms, both tops and brims that were used to stretch out newly formed hats. I bought all of them and made many mirrors with the brim parts and used some of the hat blocks for other art pieces (see De Obscuridad). They were very exciting pieces to work with. The other thing I found and bought was a pair of high-top men’s laced shoes from the 1880s. I wear them with the wool set of tails suit from the 1890s. A perfect fit!!!!
