Indoor Planter

1989

After my new neighbors, Barbara and Mark, moved into the house at the end of our shared driveway, they had a problem with the entry area. When you walked in their entry door, you were in a 8’x8’ room with stairs going up to the main living area. They felt that the entry area was too dark and asked me if I thought the wall on the right could be opened up. After checking out the wall, I told them that it could be done. Barbara then wanted to know if I could incorporate a planter in the unit. I opened the wall, built a wider unit, and incorporated the planter and some angled shelves on both sides. Between the overhead top hat grow lights for the plants and the light coming in from the sliding patio doors at the other side of the room, the entire entry area became bright, welcoming and beautiful.
